Kiyomizu-dera is located in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, and was built in 778.
In 1994, it was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
Chion-in is the head temple of the Jodo sect and is a temple located in Higashiyama, just north of Yasaka Shrine and Maruyama Park.
